Installation and Reference Guide ClearConnect 1.3 |
|
| About This Book |
This book explains how to install and configure client applications and server databases that use the ClearConnect product.
Throughout this document, the ClearConnect client software is referred to generically as "ClearConnect" or "ODBC Client."
This section includes the following topics:
The guidelines and instructions in this guide are intended primarily for system administrators and system programmers who coordinate the installation and use of the ClearConnect software product set. In addition, the following people may be involved during various stages of setup and implementation:
This book assumes that you have a working knowledge of system administration for your environment.
We recommend that you be familiar with the IBM DB2 SQL Reference or the X/Open SQL specification so you can understand the definition of a database and the intended result of executing SQL statements.
Because ClearConnect integrates these complex systems, we recommend a coordinated approach to setup and installation that involves all of the people mentioned in the preceding paragraphs.
This guide describes a set of tasks, with each chapter representing a task. The following table shows how this book is organized.
