| General information |
DirectConnect version 12.0 is built on Sybase Open Server version 12.0, which allows client applications to use Client-Library (CT-Library) functions. You can use CT-Library or DB-Library to:
Access and modify AS/400 data through the access service
Transfer data to and from the AS/400 and other databases
However, you must use Open Client CT-Library version 10.0.3 or later to program an application that includes CT-Library cursors and dynamic commands.
DirectConnect is designed to appear like Adaptive Server so that Adaptive Server applications can run against the access service as successfully as possible.
