Chapter 2 Configuring the DirectConnect Access Service Library

You change existing properties and create additional MVS access services by:

• Editing the MVS access service library configuration file that resides on the DirectConnect Server

  For this document, all references to the MVSaccess service will be referred to simply as access service.

• Using DirectConnect Manager

If you edit the configuration file, you must stop and restart the server for the changes to take effect. The instructions in this chapter describe how to edit the access service library configuration file.

If you use DirectConnect Manager, you can configure access service properties and dynamically change many properties without stopping and starting the server. For information about using DirectConnect Manager, see the DirectConnect Manager Online Help.

For convenience, we recommend you use DirectConnect Manager to configure the access service library.

The access service library uses some configuration information from the server. For instructions about configuring DirectConnect Server properties, see the DirectConnect Server Administration Guide.
