What is Enterprise Connect Complete?

Enterprise Connect Complete is the enterprise data solution that includes all of the components of Enterprise Connect Data Movement and Enterprise Connect Data Access. Enterprise Connect Complete provides all of the products needed for transparent access, movement and management of information in an Enterprise.

Enterprise Connect Complete allows applications to interact with non-Sybase databases such as Oracle, Informix, Microsoft SQL Server, AS/400, DB2/DRDA as well as Sybase Adaptive Server Enterprise and Sybase Adaptive Server Anywhere.

Additionally, it includes replication agents that pull database changes from non-Sybase data sources, such as Informix, Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle, and supply them to Replication Server. Replication Server delivers these changes throughout the Enterprise and may use Sybase Adaptive Server (ASE) with Component Integration Services CIS (formerly called OmniConnect) and Direct Connects to deliver the data to non-Sybase targets.

Enterprise Connect Complete Components

Enterprise Connect Complete includes:

• Sybase Adaptive Server Enterprise (ASE) with restricted license for Replication Server System Database (RSSD) and Component Integration Services (CIS) (formerly OmniConnect) for a single view of distributed and heterogeneous data sources.

• Direct Connects work stand-alone or behind ASE or Replication Server to provide dynamic access to Oracle, Informix, Microsoft SQL Server, SQL Anywhere, AS/400, and DB2/DRDA

• Sybase Replication Server Log Based, bi-directional replication of distributed data for reliable deliver of transactions

• Replication Agents extend the capabilities of Sybase Replication Server to non-Sybase data including Oracle, Informix and Microsoft SQL

How Enterprise Connect Complete components work together

The following figure shows how the components of Enterprise Connect Complete work together to provide data access and data movement. In the following figure, RSM refers to Replication Server Manager
