Log in as "pacuser" or as another user created with the SecurityAdminGUI (see the Installation Guide for more information). Access the appropriate page using the tabs at the top of the portal or the drop-down list in the top right corner.

The PATRIOTcompliance portlets are placed on pages based on the installation process. See Table 2-1.

Using the PATRIOT Welcome portlet

The PATRIOT Welcome portlet displays a synopsis of the PATRIOT Act legislation and defines the approach taken by the Sybase PATRIOTcompliance Starter Kit.

Using the Pat Useful Links portlet

This portlet contains many useful Web page links relating to the PATRIOT Act.

Completing the Pat Role Adm screen

  1. If you are not logged in as a user with the superuser role, log in under that role now.

  2. If necessary, create a new role. Choose the appropriate role.

  3. Enter a name for the role.

  4. Select the appropriate permissions for the role. The permissions you select determine the level of access the user has to the suspect list and to the trend roles.

  5. Click Activate.

Completing the Pat User Adm screen

  1. If you are not logged in as a user with the superuser role, log in under that role now.

  2. Enter the user name in the Login name field.

  3. Enter the user password in the Password field.

  4. Select the role to be assigned to this user from the drop-down list.

  5. Click Activate.

Using the Pd Exp Notification portlet

Pd Exp Notification is a new portlet that identifies the date when the user's password expires.

Expiration dates reflect the duration settings in the security.properties file. These settings, however, are subordinate to the properties in the user's account policy. If the Pd Exp Notification portlet reads Your password never expires and you want the duration properties to take precedence, you must open EP Security Manager and deselect the Password never expires property.

Completing the Account Management screen

When the account password must be changed, use the Account Management portlet to change it.

  1. Click Edit to change your telephone number and email address.

  2. Click Change Password and complete the Password Administration screen to change your password.

Displaying a list of current users

Pat LoggedIn Users portlet identifies all users currently logged into the system. List may also include users who terminate sessions by closing the browser rather than logging out of the portal. This portlet is visible to pso users only.

Displaying a list of current users
  1. On the Pat LoggedIn Users portlet, click Display.

A list of users currently logged on the system appears. If the list exceeds one page, click Prev Page and Next Page to navigate through the list. Click Clear to hide the list.
