Chapter 3
This chapter explains how to set up and customize the List Filter.
To access a portlet, open a browser. Open http://<machine_name>:8080 to enter Enterprise Portal. Log in as "pacuser" or as another user created with the SecurityAdminGUI (see the Installation Guide for more information). Access the List Admin or Utils page using the tabs at the top of the portal or the drop-down list in the top right corner.
Use the Pat List Adm portlet to create or select a suspect list and to manage the roles assigned to the list.
To create a new suspect list, you must log in as a superuser. Then follow these steps:
Enter the name of the list in the Name field.
Optionally, enter a description of the list in the Description field.
The Auto update interval, URL, and Is this list downloadable? fields are not fully implemented in this release.
Click Activate.
To select an existing list, choose it from the drop-down list.
After you have chosen or created a list, follow these steps to add your role to the Roles assigned list.
Select a role from the All roles list box.
Click the left arrow.
This allows any user with the selected role to access the list with all the permissions granted to the role.
Use the Pat List Entry Adm portlet to view, modify, or add an entry to the suspect list.
Follow these steps to view a suspect entry:
Enter the suspect name in the Look up name field.
Press Find.
Use the Search Tips link to view tips on how to perform a partial search.
To browse an entire suspect list, select it from the drop-down list, then click Browse List.
A list of matching suspects displays.
Click a suspect to display information about that suspect.
Click Prev Page or Next Page to scroll through the list of suspects that match your search criteria.
Follow the instructions in this section to enter details about a suspect.
Enter the details of the suspect entry in the lower part of the portlet screen.
Click Activate if you are creating a new entry.
Click Update if you are updating an existing entry.
Click Clear to clear all fields and create a new entry.
Follow these steps to deactivate a suspect entry:
Open the suspect detail screen.
Click Deactivate. This makes the entry inactive, which means that, although it is still in the system, it is no longer considered in suspect searches.
To reactivate the entry, display it in the detail entry screen. Click Activate.
Several settings can be changed to modify the results of the list filter. The cleared list, equivalent names, and stop words can be modified. Each of these options is covered in this section.
Customers, employees, or external entities may be placed on a cleared list to allow their transactions to pass through the Patriot Solution without being flagged as a hit. Use the Pat Cleared List Adm portlet to administer the cleared list. In this portlet, you can search entries, make entries, or flag entries as inactive from multiple lists at the same time.
Managing cleared list entriesIf you want to search the list for a subject, type a name in the Look up name box, click Find.
A list of entries that match your search criteria appears. Notice that the list now includes a Login User column. This column identifies the user who made the entry.
If you want to modify an entry on the list, click on a name to retrieve the subject's record. Do one of the following:

Clear a subject from one or more suspect lists | In the Cleared from list box, choose the lists where you want to add the subject, click Activate. This clears a new or existing subject from one or more lists. |
Change details in the subject's record. | Make the appropriate changes to the subject's record, choose the list or lists where you want the updates to occur, click Update. Use this option to change information about the subject, like a name change |
Deactivate a subject from the cleared list. | Choose the lists from which you want to deactivate the subject, click Deactivate. This makes the entry inactive, which means that, although it is still in the system, it is considered in suspect searches. |
Groups of closely associated names can be maintained through the Pat EqNames Adm portlet. This portlet is used, in particular, to maintain lists of translations of forenames so that searches can be done more intelligently. For example, you can specify that the name Steve has the translations Esteban and Steffan.
To search for a name, fill in the Name field. Click Search By Name.
To search for a group, fill in the Name field. Click Search By Group.
To add a name to a new group, enter
-1for the Group field. Enter the new group name in the Name field. Click Add Name to Group.
To add a new name to an existing group, identify the group ID with which the new name is to be associated. Make appropriate entries in the Group and Name fields at the bottom on the portlet. Click Add Name to Group.
Stop words are words that occur frequently in transactions and are irrelevant to the suspect search. Version 2.2 includes a new Stop Words Candidate portlet which identifies how frequently certain words appear in various suspect lists. Use this portlet to identify potential candidates for the stop words list.
Use the Pat Stop Words Ad m portlet to maintain the list of stop words.
Maintaining the stop word listType the word you want to add to the stop word list in the text box.
Choose a priority level from the drop down box.
Choose normal priority. High priority should be chosen only for words that create many false positive hits.
Click Add Stop Word.
Use the Next Page and Prev Page links to locate the word you want to delete.
Click the Delete link next to the stop word.
To add a new stop word, enter the word in the input field. Choose "normal" priority. High priority should be chosen only for words that create many false positive hits. This is rare. Click Add Stop Word.
To delete a stop word, use the Next Page and Prev Page links to locate the word. Select the Delete link to the right of the word to be deleted.
